S4K founder Nathan Gilliland has taught Physical Education in both Primary and Secondary Schools for over 11 years.

Over this time, it was obvious to him that children were exposed to the extreme UV radiation without appropriate eyewear protection.

He would often have children complaining of the brightness of the sun affecting their participation and enjoyment.

Nathan and his wife Sarah welcomed their daughter Georgia to the world in January 2018.  This reinforced their desire for not only Georgia, but for all children to have appropriate eyewear at school and outdoors.

The concept of Sunnies4Kids was finally brought to life in 2019, providing children with Australian Standard eye protection (AS/NZS 1067.1:2016) to reduce solar UV radiation and glare.
